ABOUT US

TAEMA is a member-based, non-governmental organisation established in 2022 and official registered in 2025 under The Societies Act (CAP.337 R.E. 2002) as a national association coordinating stakeholders in the electric mobility ecosystem in Tanzania, promoting sustainable transport solutions through advocacy, innovation, and partnerships. It serves as a central coordinating platform bringing together government, private sector actors, researchers, and development partners to accelerate the transition toward sustainable transport. TAEMA plays a strategic role in supporting policy development, fostering innovation, and enabling collaboration across the mobility ecosystem to drive environmental sustainability and economic growth.

Our mission

To promote and advocate the increased use of Electric Mobility by developing an effective network of members and stakeholders, emphasizing the need for quality and best practice throughout the sector.

Our vision

To be a stable and reputable Association which centralize members and stakeholders from different parts of Tanzania for easier support and enabling the sustainable growth of the Electric Mobility sector throughout mainland Tanzania.

Our Objectives

The objective of the Association shall be to promote the sustainable development of Electric. Mobility through;
(a) Advancing knowledge and skills.
(b) Managing knowledge and disseminate information.
(c) Networking members and other key stakeholders in he public and private sector.
(d) Supporting the creation of an enabling environment and framework for a sustainable electric mobility market.
(e) Supporting and encouraging best practice, including development and enforcement of standards and codes of conduct.
(f) Promoting local manufacturer of Electric mobility products and enterprise development in the Electric Mobility sector.
(g) Facilitating market development of Electric Mobility technologies, applications and services.

CEO & Founder’s Message

Founder, Mwanangu Development Tanzania (MWADETA) When I first encountered children living with hydrocephalus and spina bifida in Tanzania, I saw more than medical conditions — I saw families struggling alone, traveling long distances for care, facing stigma, and fighting for their children’s survival with very limited support. Many of these children do not suffer because treatment does not exist. They suffer because access does not exist.

Mwanangu Development Tanzania (MWADETA) was founded to close that gap. Our mission is simple but urgent: to ensure that no child is denied life-saving care, inclusive education, or dignity simply because of where they are born. We work to strengthen Regional Referral Hospitals, train district-level healthcare providers, support inclusive public schools, and advocate for prevention through folic acid supplementation and fortified foods. We also push for sustainable government policies and access to essential medical devices such as VP shunts and catheters.

Our goal is to bring services closer to communities — so families no longer have to travel far, sell property, or lose hope. I believe that every child deserves the chance to live, learn, and thrive. Together with partners, government, healthcare professionals, and communities, we are building a Tanzania where children with hydrocephalus and spina bifida are supported, protected, and empowered.

Welcome to the Tanzania Electric Mobility Association (TAEMA) — the national platform uniting stakeholders driving the transition toward a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable transportation future in Tanzania.

At TAEMA, we believe that electric mobility is more than a technological shift — it is a national opportunity to transform the transport sector, stimulate green innovation, create decent jobs, and reduce carbon emissions. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption and development of electric mobility through collaboration, policy dialogue, knowledge sharing, and private sector participation.

Through partnerships with government institutions, development partners, private companies, and research organizations, TAEMA provides a coordinated voice for the e-mobility industry. We support the creation of an enabling environment for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, buses, and charging infrastructure — ensuring that Tanzania is prepared for the next era of sustainable transport.
